"This is a version of the track "Yolk Yellow Legged", which in its original form was first released by Marry Waterson & Oliver Knight on their album 'The Days That Shaped Me'. Marry and I wrote the song back and forth, she sent me the lyric, I came up with the melody. I thought it was amusing we were singing about Sea Fret, being her local term for Haar, and all those butterflies she mentions, which together reminded me of my songs "Queen Of Spain" and "When The Haar Rolls In", both from my album of the same name, 'When The Haar Rolls In'.

"Marry sang on the Haar album, of course, on the version of her mother Lal's Midnight Feast. And Marry's on this new one too, or at least the vinyl version and the DVD, singing her mother's Black Horse White. Black Horse White I learned from the demos which went on to make Bright Phoebus, a rather special album of Lal & Mike Waterson's from 1972

"With this album Cornish hermit and Underground Psychedelic freak-ball David A. Jaycock has bridged the 4 yr gap between James' last two albums; he's taken James' collaborations, film soundtracks, radio sessions & guest appearances, alongside the demos for this very album - and remixed and re produced them for this very special bonus disc. Dave is a much loved figure on the outsider music circuit and his collision with James' pop styling has made a beautiful fruity woozy album, full of beautiful woozy fruit.

"David says 'I like finger picking, sleeping, fishing, digging, cider making and wood cutting. I am interested in analog synthesizers and acoustic guitars. I make my living building dry stone walls, rough shod plastering and repairing the gear boxes of pre-1970 Massey tractors.'"
