It is hard to beleive that seven years have passed since two young lads put their love for drum and bass on the line and put on their first show. DnBassador and Underground joined forces in 2006 to form Bass Element. United by a passion for the harder darker styles of drum and bass they felt that the sound they wanted to hear was not being represented in Adelaide. Their first event saw the mighty Evol Intent come to town and decimate the city of churches with a non stop barrage of heavy amens and dirty basslines. The first show was a success, with the local crowd frothing at the mouth for more. It was not long before the Bass Element delivered another dose of nastiness, with Limewax responsible for causing the damage second time around.

In 2007 Adelaide jungle pioneer MPK recognized their passion and success and recruited them to be part of the HQ family. This was a win-win situation for everyone involved. Bass Element had a venue to call home and one of Adelaide's most experienced promoters as a mentor. MPK had a young and enthusiastic duo to take care of his drum and bass bookings, as well as someone to pass the torch on to. On top of that, the Adelaide Massive were provided with an increasing number of drum and bass events from a wide variety of DJs and producers. Their teaming with MPK also allowed for the largest drum and bass event ever in Adelaide, bringing High Contrast, Camo and Krooked, Metrik, Logistics, S.P.Y. and MC Wrec to town for our own edition of Hospitality.

It hasn't been just Adelaide who has noticed what the Bass Element boys have been doing. Both DnBassador and Underground have both represented the Bass Element sound interstate, playing in Melbourne, Perth and Canberra.

Seven years since their inception Bass Element are still going strong, continuing to deliver some of the biggest names in drum and bass to our town on a regular basis. Their resume has become a who's who of drum and bass, with a list of acts so vast it would almost be easier to tell you who they haven't bought to Adelaide.

On Friday May 17 Bass Element will be hosting a birthday party to remember with a little help from some very special guests: Delta Heavy representing the mighty Ram Recordings plus Fred V and Grafix flying the flag for Hospital Records.
