Have you ever wondered what all the people are listening to when they travel on public transport?
That thought has crossed my mind many times.
Det mekaniska undret is a music and art project that was created to make a soundtrack for a tram line in Gothenburg.
Line 11 from Bergsjön to Saltholmen. The idea is that you play the album throughout the journey, from the start in Bergsjön to the end of the line in Saltholmen. An album to listen to when you travel.
The trip was filmed and the music synced for the trip. The outcome was ten songs that represent the different sections of the trip. Each song also got an unique art work that breathes the part of town that you pass through.
The project ended with an video installation and exhibition in the district of Majorna in Gothenburg.
