Dj Zion was born Kristopher Leo Ortega on the 8th of January.
Growing up, Dj Zion was exposed to a vast variety of musical genres and ideas. His parents provided a great deal of influence regarding his passion for art and music. The path he's chosen was inevitable. At age 7 he started to collect cd after cd and song after song. While building an vast library of music from 1950's to 2000 that included genres from the 70's 80's 90s, disco, funk, house, pop, classic rock, metal, hip hop, underground, throwbacks and much more. He also studied the history of music along with idols and theories up to 3 and 4 generations behind him as well as the present. He continue to educate himself on all things related to music and the science of sound.

The main inspiration to become a Dj was when he saw videos of grand master flash, Dj kool herc, Herbbie Handcock,The executioners,q-bert,premier, mix master mike, z-trip, a-trak, craze,shiftee, jazzy jeff and more. However, the one Dj that stuck out to Dj Zion the most was Dj Am. To DJ Zion, here was somebody that played and mixed music with genres so drastically, smoothly,clean and crisp. DJ Am was also the perfect combination of a turntabalist and mixer. DJ Am was soon the number one inspiration and idol that Dj Zion would forever look up to in life. At the age of 14 Dj Zion finally got his first pair of turntables and soon after that learned all the specs(ear, bpm, scratching, effects etc.). DJ Zion is at the start of a very exciting career.
