Proud to be the only exclusively ragga jungle DJ on jungletrain.net, I have considered this station to be my home since I started my show on January 9th, 2007. The show has evolved since it began in several ways: on August 22nd, 2007 I changed timeslots from Tuesdays to Wednesdays, on April 10th, 2008 I changed the name of the show from "Electronic Enlightenment" to "Selection of a Soldier" to reflect the independent purpose of the show outside of my crew, and since the beginning I have been strengthening the identity of the show as a showcase of the large variety of ragga jungle styles that exist today.
The name "Selection of a Soldier" was decided in the heat of the moment back in April of 2008, but the idea had been a long time in the making. I have always thought of myself as a soldier, both personally and throughout my DJing career. Since becoming part of the rave scene in 2004, despite all obstacles, I continuously challenged myself to be a better person and to give deeper meaning to my contributions to society and the music culture that I love so much. Let my selection be a representation of the beliefs worth fighting for and the eternal clash that our life must be in order to be true to them. Stay strong and persistent every day, think of yourself as part of an army of passion, and enjoy the beats!
"'Selection of a Soldier' is not an ode to a militant lifestyle; it is an ode to those who live their passion and fight for it. In my case, music is my passion."
