DJing since the tender age of 14, "The Tornado" got his start playing at "ragers" - house parties where people drank Knob Creek out of the bottle instead of beer and partied 'til 5 AM to his mix of hip-hop, house, funk, reggae, and classic party jams. Since 2005, he has been playing primarily bass-driven music, in particular drum & bass and dubstep. Tornado has opened for D&B favorites Gridlok and Original Sin, dubstep dons Matty G and Silkie and underground sensations Bass Science - among others. In 2011, Tornado began promoting "Bassweight" - a night of deep dubstep, grime, and UK Garage. Later in the year, he was asked to join Brüt Force, a crew that has pushed underground UK bass music in Chicago since 2000. In 2012, Bassweight began monthly installments at Chicago institution Smart Bar on the first Thursdays. The monthly has already started gaining national recognition for booking world-class DJs including Joe Nice, Seven, Truth, DJG / Grenier, and Youngsta. Tornado’s technical skills were acknowledged by veteran dubstep DJ N-Type, when he was asked to provide a guest mix for the Wheel & Deal show on London’s legendary radio station Rinse FM in February 2013.

With a worldwide fan base and an ever busying gig schedule, Tornado is one of the few DJs in the States getting booked throughout the country strictly on his merits as a selector – not social media hype or production skills. Always armed with the freshest cuts from established producers and dubs from up-and-comers, his 3-deck sets are bursting with energy, passion, and most importantly - tunes to send any true dubstep head into a frenzy.
