Imagine, in a far past in a small town in Groningen, Holland. The first dance-tracks are heard on the radio and house music rises. Somewhere a young DJ-to-be is hooked on the radio, a tape recorder in reach, waiting for that one special track. He spells the charts, never misses a show and because of that, he makes a rock solid base for a musical career.
Soon just recording tracks from the radio wasn't enough. After a couple of attempts the first dance-compilations started to develop. In the local town-club he could let it all out and for a enthusiastic crowd he plays and mixes the music. A couple of turntables, a mixing desk and loads of records were purchased. A simple hobby was growing into a semi-professional concept. The only thing what was missing was a real DJ name. And because mixing is all about synchronicity, the name 'DJ Synchro' was quickly found.
One gig after another finally gave him residencies in a club in Nijmegen and Groningen. His tight way of mixing, feeling the audience and choosing his music carefully was noticed by the crowd and as a result, a small group of fans was born.
Eventually the (logical) step to a professional institution became a fact. In October of 2001 the National radio station 'Yorin FM' invited him, together with a fellow DJ, to mix the 'Yorin FM Hitmix'. A 4 hour show with the best dance tracks and house classics. This show soon developed to be the show with the most listeners of the whole radio station. But after a format change, unfortunately, the Hitmix was cancelled.
One year later, DJ Synchro started to mix for the National Radiostation called 'SLAM!FM' He started to mix the 'SLAM!X' A one hour show with the best dance tracks of the moment in a tight uplifting mix. After the 'SLAM!X' SLAM!FM asked him to mix the 'SLAM!YAM', a short mini mix which was aired every working day around 5 o clock in the show 'Markplein' Soon this became the most popular item of the show. During this period he also made a Mega mix for Dutch House hero DJ Jean. This Mega mix appeared on the DJ Jean website for more than a year!
After 2 years DJ Synchro stops making mixes for radio stations. Instead he started focusing more on performing as a DJ at parties and clubs. A DJ Synchro live set will consist of pumping accessible uplifting house music with great buildups. Gigs he did were at the Thalia Lounge in Rotterdam, Huize Maas in Groningen and Anno in Almere, to name but a few.
Besides Dj'ing DJ Synchro is also producing tracks and remixes in his own studio which he invested in in the past few years. Once in a while he teams up with different producers and in January 2007, the first release is a fact. The German house label 'Lickin Records' signed a track he produced with DJ JVA, called 'Time out'. Soon after that big Dutch House pioneer DJ Jose asked the two guys to make a 2007 remix of his track 'Hesitate'. This remix did very well in the clubs. Soon after they produced the next big release on Lickin Records called Dancin. This track was released exclusively on Beatport as a digital download. Also a remix for a Dutch upcoming project called 'Brandon Still' was released early 2009 on MFL Recordings; the label of DJ Jose. Many remixes and tracks are in the making right now.
