D. Scorch’d’s first major success came in 2006 while working with a music production team known as, The Bakery, in his native city, St. Louis, Missouri. The team’s Pop, Lock and Drop It single with rapper, Huey, peaked at number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Rap Songs chart the following year. The success caught the attention of Grammy Award-winning production duo, The Trak Starz, and ultimately led D. Scorch’d to become an in-house producer under their label.
Since 2010, D. Scorch’d has composed music with fellow producer, HQ The Sound Scientist, for various cable television networks and other media. 2011 was a year of self-exploration which led D. Scorch’d to conceive, DJsNeverEndingStory, after gaining inspiration from recording artists such as Flying Lotus, Washed Out, Sigur Rós, Daft Punk, AlunaGeorge, and much of the U.K. music scene. The DJsNeverEndingStory sound comes from a mixture of these artists. For 2013 and beyond, D. Scorch’d hopes to perfect his floating sound and continue his work in the music industry making music in all the styles within his repertoire.
