The bastard child of all things electronic, Slumbercat a.k.a. James Arsenault has been an active contributor to the Nova Scotia music scene since his teenage years. As a founder and bass player for the now defunct electro-funk dance group Broadcaster, and as a current member of the electro infused rock group The Wax, Slumbercat has his name etched into numerous professionally recorded EPs and full-length albums.

Now, as an electro-house producer with post-secondary jazz training, Slumbercat is beginning to attract attention from Halifax’s dance music scene. With his ear for big, fast, and complex electro bass-lines, combined with a history of avant-garde experimental music composition, there are few boundaries that Atlantic Canada’s freshest electronic musician won’t flirt with.

Progress is steady for this Halifax based electronic musician, as his knowledge of both organic and electronic music continues to expand. You can catch Slumbercat in the future as both a solo artist, as well as a collaborator with fellow Halifax based musicians and producers.
