About
A DJ, producer, and promoter based in the Bay Area, DJ SEP spins dub, dubstep, roots reggae and dancehall. She is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at DUB MISSION, one of the longest running dub & reggae parties in the U.S. and the world. A weekly Sunday night party based in San Francisco, Dub Mission presents cutting-edge dub, roots reggae, dancehall and dubstep, and celebrated its 16th anniversary last September. Dub Mission has featured artists from all over the world, including Mad Professor, Adrian Sherwood, The Scientist, Twilight Circus Dub Sound System, Zion Train, and Mungo's Hi Fi with Soom T, to name a few. For 22 years, DJ Sep was also on Bay Area radio: first at college radio station KUSF-FM (University of San Francisco) and later at Berkeley's public radio station, KPFA-FM, where her eclectic electronic mix program, "Off the Beaten Path," aired from 1994 to 2010 (still on the air with new host Victoria Z). In 2003, she and journalist/producer Ron Nachmann aka Shockman realized and compiled Babylon Is Ours: The USA in Dub, (www.dubmissionsf.com/theusaindub.html), a compilation of all-exclusive American dub tracks released on Germany's Select Cuts Records. In 2009, her remixes with Jason Short ["Get Your Dub Wet" feat. Mochipet, Juakali and Dj Collage aka Mr. Chatman] were released on Daly City Records (http://www.mochipet.com/promo/mochipet-get_your_dub_wet/ ).
