About

DJ SEP is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at Dub Mission. Celebrating its 18th year and recently voted “Best Reggae Club” by SF Bay Guardian readers, Dub Mission is one of the longest-running dub & reggae parties in the world. Presenting cutting-edge dub, roots reggae and dancehall every Sunday at Elbo Room San Francisco, Dub Mission has featured artists from all over the world including Adrian Sherwood, Mad Professor, Prince Fatty and Mungo's Hi Fi. For 22 years, Sep was also on Bay Area radio: first at college radio station KUSF and later at Berkeley's public radio station, KPFA. In 2003, she DJ/producer Shockman produced Babylon Is Ours: The USA in Dub, a compilation of all-exclusive American dub tracks released by Germany's Select Cuts Records. In 2009, her remixes (with Jason Short) of "Get Your Dub Wet" featuring Juakali and Mista Chatman were released on Mochipet’s Daly City Records. Dub Mission has won a Bay Guardian Goldie Award. DJ Sep has been nominated for best DJ by SF Weekly Music Awards. She has opened for Sly & Robbie, The Wailers, Culture, Big Youth, Les Nubians, Rachid Taha, Kinky, The Cinematic Orchestra and many others.
