masterful intro. Props
A bit too long for my taste, but nevertheless well done
The drums need some Eq ing to my taste , more crispier, more clear. In my opinion that is. Nice floating pschyo etno style. I like the whole setting
my only complaint is about the drum beat. i like how that amen rollage comes up and down thru the song, but i somehow dont like that it never comes to the forefront. still, you have some punchy kicks used all the way thru it. so right now it sounds kind of disjoined. i think that if you wanted to create a more laid back, chillout track, you should leave it that way. but if you wanted it to be a rolly piece of drumfunk dnb, i suggest you to bring up that amens a little bit (vocals are a bit too loud sometimes) and make them drive the beat among w the kicks. it's your choice. again, filtering (on a wider spectrum) should be useful. and perhaps do something about those mid clicks that come after the drop. well... thats my 2cents
@dvorkru: Thanks for your detailed comments. This is why I'm keen on posting drafts here on Soundcloud. I need to revisit the percussion on this track in a serious way - adding cymbals and beefing up that amen some. I had a hard time taming the amen - it had a lot of hissing highs in it.
you have me intrigued from the first sec! nice buildup
good choice of instruments!
This is mad
@zgomot: Im diggin it too!!
the drums perhaps need to be less separated... i mean, i can hear two main clearly different parts: some 'distorted' rolly drums and the 'burial-esque' percussion on the top. perhaps some exchange in between the two would be good-separating the distorted part in pieces or perhaps distorting some hits of the hi end percussion... i dont know how to express it..
having that said, i really like the way you used the kick, it is there, you can tell, but it doesnt have that presence in the mix... have you tried a different version with more kick?? well, perhaps it would change the mood of the track completely.
here is where i am talking about, and i realize that is a synth not your bass, i want a deeper sub for your bass (or just more presence) and i want that synth pulled up some. not to steal focus from the perc or the koto, but to bring more presence to the whole track.
Working on that sub base technique. Thanks for the feedback.
Pretty Cool. I like the acoustic instruments.
@The Boredom Team: Thanks
Quite an emotional track. I like it very much and I think you have improved quite a bit as a producer! Keep up the good work!
interesting "mood" piece! i'd like to hear the final version -- there are things that seem a little "unfocused" -- but it is a work in progress.
@djtbird: Details pls. What do think is unfocused exactly if you don't mind? That's why I posted it after all. And thanks for joining RT.
@djsAro: i don't know t-bird, but i can say that the only way that it is at all unfocused to me is that it could use the bass being pulled up a little. would give it a little more backbone which would make it feel less airy and unfocused. when the koto or zither sound is the driving sound and it is meandering in its rhythm it feels unfocused... that should be the lead part but not the driving part. not when you have such great drums and perc and not when you have that sick bassline esp with the filters in the second break(ish area)... does that make sense?
Thanks guys. I really appreciate the feedback. Hard to get sometimes so thank you much for chiming in.
mmm.. another idea... have you tried doing this track, but a bit slower?? like say at dub tempo (70) or even slower. it'd leave more room for the rolly drums to work out and perhaps it would give a more spacey chilled feeling... just an idea.
@dvorkru: Thanks for all of your comments
well, perhaps i commented too much, ccriticizing things and all of that, but all i have to say is that i really liked this. moody, dark, that sitar was ace, the percussion was really cool... the things i have said were ideas that came to mind as i was listening to the track....
I Wouldn't change too much, Track sound good to me! You could bring the drums & percs A BIT, more to the front!
@flatcut: Thanks for the feedback
@djsAro: i agree i dig it.
YEeeeaaaaaaa
Word, that break is so tight and minimal, its perfect!
Very cool stuff
Love the strange voice...well, a stranger here
Great track, very much enjoyed it - I love all the subtle sounds going on and the sample use was on par, very clean and classy track!

Great work. The 6/8 works perfectly. Loving it.
mmm delicious 6/8. I really had to count it out to find it, I like how you've compounded the rhythms with the time signature. props.
@Lush Puppy: awe, you're too kind. Thanks for all the positive feedback, peeps.
Ha. The download started from itunes in a sort of synch for a few moments.
A DnB twist on a stuttering sort of trip hop tune I made. Hope that you enjoy
