Coming to age in Robert Tellier’s home made it nearly impossible to avoid house music. Originally a fan of indie and classic rock, and early 90s hip-hop, Robert was slowly seduced to the world of house by a family deeply rooted in Miami and New York’s party scenes– not to mention a step-dad whose been behind the decks about as long as Robert has been listening to music.

Like going swimming in a freezing pool, Robert took his time submerging himself in house. Testing the waters first, slowly inching his way in. And now, swimming around happily in the open waters of four-on-the-floor beats.

With his residency at Miami based, mybeatFix.com, Robert became a regular at one of South Florida’s favorite clandestine clubs, The Electric Pickle. His monthly spots at the Pickle became the backbone of a string of gigs throughout Miami including spots at Space’s Terrace, Mansion, Set, Mekka and opening duties at Victor Calderone’s Waveform Pool Party at the Surfcomber during WMC.

Robert’s sound– a constantly evolving blend of tech and traditional house with a deep, seductive twist– has also taken him across the Atlantic to play at Berlin’s, M-Bia nightclub, as well as multiple gigs during the Burning Man festival in Nevada. And a recent relocation to New York City has already seem him play at Manhattan’s Provocateur, with more gigs on the horizon.

As the New Year approaches, Robert is in position to take the next step in his life and career. A spot on the creative team for the New York based media outlet, Onebeat.tv and hours recently spent practicing and evolving his skills in producing– along with his constant practice of mixing– ensures his mind will remain where it belongs, in the music.
