I have always been involved with music in some capacity, early on learned on the piano, sang in choirs or in the school band (yes a band geek, ha ha). With that training in the school bands, it lead to the training of listening to a song and being able to pick it apart mentally and hear the melodies, harmonies, and the bass lines. And cannot forget the subtle counters of each grouping.
Always learning myself, I have enjoyed teaching others the craft, and showing them how to "dj properly".
Started spinning down at the local roller rink here in Calgary on a dual CD player, then onto some vinyl, then onto a couple of different software packages. I do still go back and forth between the different equipment and medias. Once I caught the DJ bug, I never have looked back!
When it comes to DJing, always have and always will keep playing something different, never in the same order, or the same sound.
And since i started down at the rink, gotta play just about everything... hip hop, top 40, retro (disco, classic rock), modern rock, dance, house and the list goes on.Keep up and I'll post some other sets of different flavors.
And as always, recorded live!
Stay tuned, &
"Keep Playing It Forward"!!!
