DJ Phroh Bio

For over 10 years now DJ Phroh has been hard at work smashing dancefloors in his home town of Whistler British Columbia. A DJ, a producer, a turntablist, and most importantly a lover of music. He is notorious for his jaw dropping sets at the infamous “Whistler Full Moon Parties” where he scratches over his bass heavy, home grown, original dubplates of jungle, drum & bass and dubstep. A regular in the Canadian DnB Scene, he has been seen mashing up the dance at clubs all over the Canada from Toronto to Vancouver to Victoria and especially at his residency at the famous “Whistler Junglists” nights @ Whistler’s best nightclub, Tommy Africas.

Born in Canada and having grown up in the DnB epicenter of Toronto, Phroh studied very early on in his life the aspects of what makes a dancefloor go off by attending massive legendary parties by the likes of Delerium, Syrous, Destiny, Big Bud, Madness, and many others in the mid 90’s accumulating knowledge of how to throw a dope show and just what it takes to erupt a dancefloor into a frenzy with your music. This led him to persue his passion for dance music with DJ and producers such as Hype, Kenny Ken, Marcus Visionary, LTJ Bukem, CRAZE and Freaky Flow serving as early influences.

From this Phroh formulated his three tier campaign on the worldwide bass music industry. First by becoming an affluent turntablist rocking the wheels of steel every night mastering his scratch style, complete with body tricks, and mixing prowess. Next he started his Whistler production company for jungle, drum & bass and dubstep entitled “Whistler Junglists” with which he hosts some of the biggest bass heavy shows in the famous ski resort party town of Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. At these shows he’s played along side the likes of dnb legends like Spor, Aphrodite, Concord Dawn as well as dubstep chart toppers such as Datsik, Excision and many more. Meanwhile he proceeded to hone his music production skills and thus creating his own drum and bass label entitled “Frozen O’s” to put out his tried, tested and true home grown creations in the form of cantankerously hype jungle, dnb, and dubstep music to the masses available in all major DJ music retailers (Beatport, Trackitdown, iTunes, Juno, Dogs on Acid).

Phroh continues to produce new music every day and signing new artists worldwide for the purpose of building his arsenal of phat beats and basslines so that when you see a DJ Phroh show… you are hearing dope, brand new, unreleased music that no other DJ is playing right now. Dubplates, originals, specials, bootlegs… whatever you wanna call them. Phroh’s got plenty!
