About
It is impossible to describe the mixes of DJ Peter Worth with words alone. With hundreds of thousands of downloads since 2004, djpeterworth.com is one of the top-ranking dj websites in the world. Googling “house dj mixes,” DJ Peter Worth’s site continuously ranks page-one year after year.
How does such an internationally recognized DJ remain low-profile? “I moved to Key West, Florida. Once I got here, I realized, ‘Why should I go anywhere else?’” DJ Peter Worth now mixes, produces and performs exclusively in Key West. “A rockstar friend said to me once, ‘If I could only stay in one place and people come to me, that would be the ideal.’ I thought to myself, that’s brilliant! The internet made it a reality. And when my friends or other artists need production or mixes, either it gets mailed in or they come here. It’s a win-win-win. A win for me, a win for other artists, and a win for our fans. The only place you get to see me live is Key West. Though I have made sojourns to Miami for one-off private parties for the Conference, and occasionally I travel for a friend. But honestly, why leave Key West?’
Inspired by urban settings such as the sparse and industrial terrains of Philadelphia, and the grittier darker underpinnings of Glasgow, and of course the spiraling heights of and criminal darknesses of Chicago and Detroit, DJ Peter Worth’s world-famous mixes are notoriously structural. “Architecture and aesthetics are my greatest inspirations,” explains Peter Worth. “I honestly look at buildings and at design in general, and I see music. What you hear in my mixes is a frustrated architect but a very, very completed DJ.”
Hear for yourself. Listen to what all your friends have been downloading for years. When you’re ready, visit Key West: Where DJ Peter Worth is in the house.
[UPDATE: Due to an genuinely inspirational house music culture, Peter Worth has taken to traveling to and from Seattle, WA, to perform for Aerialdrome's 2010-2011 events.]
