also the nikolai anna thing is a phonetic alphabet, the names mean nothing, the important bit is naimina. similar to if i said Oscar Ulysses Thomas Charles Oscar Leonard David to spell outcold. or oscar uniform tango charlie oscar lima delta. just different phonetic alphabets.

No one knows what the letters or numbers mean. some people think it's a dead hand switch, others think it relays information to spies. The actual "official" reason for the station is for ionosphere studies, which is why they broadcast on low frequency shortwave at 10 kilowatts. However, the NUMBERS STATION aspect of uvb-76 is why it is interesting.
Search for conet irdial library if you want to hear other numbers stations, and of course, wikipedia may have some information as well. there are many many pdfs and documents out there attempting to unravel the mystery, but very few reliable sources have stepped forward and said what these stations are used for.

@user1128851: I mean what could the abbreviation or word 'NAMINA' mean?
- user1128851

@Lodestar Supernumerary: NAIMINA is the names abbreviated. That is, Nikolai, Anna, Ivan, Mikail, Ivan, Nikolai, Anna. N-A-I-M-I-N-A. The numbers are read out as totals and then as individual numbers as well. So the actual saying is just UVB-76, UVB-76, 93, 882, NAIMINA, 74, 14, 35, 74. The rest is just spelling that out more clearly.

Thanks very much DJ, And yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about FCC Rules. It's a Russian Broadcast, and this is the web.

there are FCC rules about that sort of stuff, but since this is a russian broadcast you probably could. i will release the download ability in a couple of days. for now just paste this address around all you want.
