    Bio:
    THE LOADING BAY STORY

Loading Bay Records was the UK's leading Hi-NRG label at the end of the '80s. Established by Birmingham's Duncan "Funky Dunk" Finlayson in 1989, it quickly gained a reputation, issuing some of the best Hi-NRG tracks from Europe, the USA and Canada. Club-wide hits such as Ankie Bagger's "Where Were You Last Night", Mike Hammer's "Divine", New Baccara's "Fantasy Boy" and Vicki Shepard's "Somewhere", kept Loading Bay releases on the top of the DJ Hi-NRG chart, month after month. DJs around the Hi-NRG clubs would eagerly anticipate the arrival of the next Loading Bay white label.

The label's big crossover hit was "Rofo's Theme" by Rofo, which became enormous on the northern rave scene, and throughout the Scottish club scene. One of the label's biggest records was "Never Ending Story" by Obsession, which had it's first release in the UK on Loading Bay Records. Licensed from Almighty's Martyn Norris, it's great success helped Almighty Records to take up the reigns as the UK's forefront Euro/NRG dance label.

Loading Bay's strength was Duncan's ability to choose great tracks, covering a variety of styles within the genre. The campest anthemic songs would sit alongside passionate dark tracks. His love of Italodance saw the launch of Loading Bay Time, which only saw two releases on vinyl, but spawned a Best of Italo Hi-NRG CD, plus two CDs of the two of the top TIME artists.

The very popular Loading Bay Classics series gathered an amazing collection of HI-NRG classic tracks from the '80s, giving many of them their first UK release. Although Loading Bay Records was only around for some four years, it had a big impact on the UK Hi-NRG scene during the early '90s.

MIKE COPPOCK - Resident Hi-NRG club DJ in Manchester, UK, between 1987 and 2000, and began producing tracks for Loading Bay Records in 1991, in colaboration with Andy Robins. He worked with Funky Dunc at Loading Bay Records until the Label ceased before Duncan's death in 1996.

Mike established Majic Music in 1993 with two vinyl releases: 'Don't Go' by Axis feat. Kim Simmonds, and 'In Your Hands' by Francesca.

Majic Music resumed in 1999 with the CD single EP of'Wind Beneath My Wings' by Baccara, and 'Never In A Million Years by Vicki Shepard. This was followed by two more singles and an album of Madonna dance covers. 'In Love With Madonna' by Michel.

Mike has produced numerous remixes for Almighty Records, and has now returned to his roots with Loading Bay Records to release a new album of some of Loading Bay's best releases - plus some new mixes and new tracks.
