"The way that you rate a GREAT Dj is their play selection & skillz…there are alot of great play selectors and alot of great skilled djs but very few who are GREAT at both…Morse Code is one of those few!"

- DJ Jazzy Jeff

Growing up in San Francisco in the 90's, Nathaniel Morse was captivated by the diversity and quality of the burgeoning local DJ scene. Witnessing DMC and ITF battles for the first time and subsequently learning the history of hip-hop and djing, he became obsessed with mastering the craft from then on. After getting the opportunity to open for one of his childhood heroes DJ Premier in 2005, he decided it was time to pursue DJing and producing music as a full time career. Upon releasing a string of classic mixes that earned acclaim from DJ Jazzy Jeff and others, Morse then set his sights on Los Angeles. It was DJ AM who encouraged him to make the move and worked closely to help get him established in LA. In the last 5 years he has cemented himself in the local scene, maneuvering easily between the glitzy clubs of Hollywood and the musically sophisticated parties on the East side and Downtown. He is a master of true open format DJing, having immersed himself in many styles of music over the years, from dance music to hip-hop to disco to rock to pop and much more. It is his impeccable ear and serious technical skill that has earned him international acclaim and the respect of many reputable figures in the DJ world.

With frequent dates on the road in addition to his LA residencies, Morse stays busy. In LA you can find Morse DJing at venues such as Playhouse, Lure, Blok, and Hemingways. He has a Wednesday night party at The Shortstop called Wildlife, which often features high profile guests and is packed to capacity every week. He has guest DJ'ed numerous times at the legendary Do-Over party in Los Angeles, Miami, and Portland. His notoriety has brought him to 1Oak in NY, The Act in Las Vegas, and Paris Club in Chicago. In 2010, he won Redbull's first United States "3style" DJ battle in LA, and has continued to work closely with them on events.

In 2011, The Do-Over record label Spills released 2 12" singles of material by Pools, which is Morse's downtempo disco-house project with (Thee) Mike B. They also had an exclusive track on Scion's 2011 Swimming With Sharks compilation. They are currently spending time in the studio working on new material.

With this much on his plate, it may seem challenging to most but Morse is up for it. With a firm belief that you have to be a nut to get into show business and that a serious love for what you do is essential to longevity, his lifelong journey as a music junkie has prepared him for everything along the way. It is clear that the best is yet to come...
