DJ Misfit, real name Shawn DeVries, is a drum n bass DJ and producer from Aurora, IL, USA. Influenced by Chicago’s house and industrial music scenes in the 1980’s, and the growing US rave scene in the 1990’s, Misfit went on to bring his melodic, jazzy drum n bass sound to rave and club events throughout the midwest.

Recently, DJ Misfit has produced a number of unsigned drum n bass tracks reflecting influences from jazz, ambient electronica, dub and hip hop. His “live” appearances are limited, but he has been known to host internet radio shows from time to time.

In 2010, DJ Misfit and Papa Tony from SF teamed up with an old classmate to start “Reunion” up in the Volcano Room at Bottom Lounge. This quarterly event focuses on bringing people together, having a good time, playing great music, and providing benefits to local Chicago organizations through fundraising and charitable acts.
