About
DJ Mentos is a beatmaker, producer and dj focused on instrumental hip hop, trip hop, remixes, jazz, etc. Mentos has worked with rappers Son of Nun, The 3rd Message, The Bash Brothers, Swerve, SYG, Co$$ and more. He has opened up for and played with many of his favorite hip hop artists including the GZA, The Jazz Poets Society, Jeru the Damaja, Prince Paul and Black Thought at venues such as The Nuyorican Poet’s Café, C.B.G.B.’s, The Village Underground and The Knitting Factory. Mentos also recorded scratches at the legendary D&D Studios, NYC.
In 2012 Mentos produced 4 songs for Swerve's album, The Barrelhouse LP (presented by 2DopeBoyz) Stream or DL here: swerve916.bandcamp.com He is currently working with fellow producers The Beat Tape Bullies and working on a full-length release for the Dusted Wax Kingdom.
