Despite only releasing his debut album 'To the Fly' this summer, Oris Jay, aka Sheffield born producer Darqwan, has been carving out the template of bass driven music for over 15 years. Raised on the Steel City's sound of Northern bleep, in the '90s he helped pioneer the sound of darkside garage, the mutant offspring of 2-step which later morphed into dubstep. Still mashing up grime, jungle, house, garage, dubstep and dancehall in his own inimitable way, his podcast traverses decades, rhythms and scenes in much the same way as his output. Check his latest release on Texture, which includes a Surgeon remix of the classic 'Said the Spider'.
