About
Dj M.i.A was born and raised on the hectic streets of New York City. Growing up in the concrete jungle, M.i.A was influenced by the wide spectrum of music pulsing throughout the streets. Having always played music throughout his youth, Dj M.i.A picked up the turntables with the greatest of ease at the age of 14.
Emersing himself in the underground hip hop world, and surrounding himself with turntablists and other Hip-Hop / Electronic artists, he found his own musical styles come to form.
Dj M.i.A went to School at the Conservatory of Music at Oberlin College. This is where began collaborating musically with Iron Solomon and many other talented musicans.
After studying Music Technology and Composition in Oberlin College, Dj M.i.A moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue his Battle Dj and Music Production career.
While in the Bay Area Dj M.i.A linked up with local reggae power house Sound System Youth Fiyah Sounds and added reggae to his music repetoire.
Fast-forward to the present, Dj M.i.A is the touring and studio Dj for Iron Solomon. Outside of that he continues to be a speaker-thumping, party-rocking, International DJ superstar, and a digital monster in the production world.
