Since 1990, Lypo has been spinning some of the most important festivals and parties on the Brazilian scene, featuring the likes of notorious Djs, such as Scan X, Mazi, Dj Kraft, Sven Vath, Dj Hell, Tiesto, John Selway, Ralph Ballshuh, Jose de Divina, Paul Cooper, Aj Crypt, Ben Sims, Christian Smith, Kevin Yost, Christal Method, Dr Motte, Djulz, Dj Dimitry (Dee Lite), Kenny Carpenter, Derrick May, Dj Kammy – Lady Machine, Renato Cohen, Halley Seidel, Mauricio Lopes, Maumau, Oscar Bueno, Anderson Noise, Dj Marky, Iron Nipples, Breno Ung, Renato Bastos, Acacio, Luiz Pareto, Gustavo Tata and more.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Lypo used to playtechno/tech-house/house in renowned clubs, such as ZeroZero, Dama de Ferro, Fosfobox, Help and at some of the most popular parties on the scene. He began his Dj career in 1990, and has commanded the turntables around the world ever since.
Between 1994 and 1997, Lypo spun at some of the most famous clubs in the world: Bulldog, It (Amsterdam), MAD (Lausanne), Peter Pan (Rimini), Zorba's Sound Factory (Mallorca), Maxims (Mallorca-Resident), YES! (Mallorca-Resident), Joy Palace (Mallorca), Amnesia (Ibiza), ChaCha's Underground (Mallorca), Amnesia (Ibiza), Space (Ibiza), Cryo (Ibiza-Resident), Via Rio (Mallorca), and many others between Mallorca, Rimini, Teneriffe and Ibiza.
In 1998, he returned to Brazil to spin electronic music festivals and parties, such as The Club, Sancho Panza Underground, THC, Ellus Summer Party, and Rio Up Festival. He was also a fixture on the turntables at some of the best clubs in town, such as Space W, Les Artistes, and Resto. He also was the resident Dj at the Techno Room at Trash Club.
In 2002, Lypo became resident DJ at Cine Ideal's Terrazzo. His 6-hour weekly sets, aggressively filled with sizzling hot house, tech-house and techno, showcased his singular skills as a mixer. He gained recognition as one of the best Djs in Rio, and enjoyed a huge following. His reputation of being a team player earned his invite to co-produce the Rio Parade 2003. He also worked in an official capacity at the parade, overseeing the booking of other Djs during the festival and producing the 5 different Oficial Parties in 10 days. Lypo followed this prestigious position with a stellar turn as official Dj of the Rio Parade World Tour, with AJ Crypt and Cuti. The crew toured Spain (Zentraus), Switzerland (Seulenhaulle, Supermarket, 4AKT, Mona Lisa),Germany (Tresor, Metronom) and Scape (Amsterdam).
Throughout 2004 and 2005, Lypo was a piping hot fixture on the Brazilian scene, cranking up the beats at events and clubs, such as Dama de Ferro, Rio Fashion Week, Skol Rio, D-Edge MS, Ultralounge, Superclub, and TIM Festival. He also produced packed-house parties, such as Hellation (2004), Diskette and Chilly Pepper (2005).
In 2006 and 2007, Lypo spun PopKiller, Fuck the Beach, Fosfochiq, D-Edge SP, Dama de Ferro, Fosfobox, La Cueva, Fuck the Beach Ultralounge, House Sessions Festival (trustee/dj), Winning Electro, among many others. He was resident/producer Dj at H.E.M.P. (Hosting E-Music Project) Inside and in 2008, Lypo co-produced the fabled party OFF! with some of the most renowned Djs on Rio’s scene.
In June of 2008, Lypo descended upon Europe. He played clubs in Ibiza for four months, including Es Vive, one of the most exclusive after-hours on the island. Then, he moved to Milan, where he played VIP-parties and other prestigious club events at venues like Hollywood, Eleven and Santa Tecla. In March 2009, Lypo produced the “Favela Freak” party, with Michael Prado and Robson Fassbinder (M2R), as well as a monthly techno party at Gasoline, the hottest underground club in Milan.
In May 2009, Lypo traveled to Mykonos, Greece, where he worked as resident Dj of Ramrod Club. He also played at Astra and the best beach bars, including Khalua on Paraga Beach, Coco's Club on Super Paradise, as a resident Dj, as well as Bolero, the number one house music club on the island. There he headlined with big names, such as Kevin Yost. In August 2009, Lypo became resident Dj at Remezzo Club, the most elite club in Mykonos. He spun with Djs, such as Jojo Flores, CJ Jeff, Kiko Navarro, Christo-Z, Kenny Carpenter, and many others. In October 2009, Lypo traveled to Berlin, where he played the ultra-underground space Tacheles and, Schulz in Stuttgart.
He returned to Brazil in late 2009 to bring his “Favela Freak” party to the Brazilian Fashion/Underground Scene. As a result of a new partnership with Dj Fernando Papi, he spun the first official party of Rio´s Fashion Week at Zero Zero, followed by the highest profile club in Sao Paulo, The Hot Hot at side Danceteria Prjct, plus numerous clubs throughout Brazil, enjoying absolute success.
In July 2010, Lypo relocated to Los Angeles playing in parties and After-Hours in Hollywood scene.
In 2011, Spain is back to his way. Now, living in Madrid for the first time, where he hopes to begin bringing his sleek, deep, dirty, hot, sexy, internationally-craved, crowd-loved, super-moving-body-grooving beats and one-of-a-kind mixing skills to a new city. The World Club King’s story continues…
