Forces of Light is the title used by Cuban/Spanish American Artist, Producer and Designer also known as "the Cuban" , "Dj Lakshmi" or "Macario Galan", from San Diego,California . His music combines elements of World Music ,Kirtan(Hindu Devotional Chanting), Electronic Dance and Urban genres. First exposed to the music industry through hip-hop music production and ghost writing in Hollywood, CA, Dj Lakshmi produced politically motivated Gangster Rap with brothers Mellowman Ace and Senn Dogg of Cypress Hill and Latin Thug Records at age 18. The original members of Cypress him dubbed him "the Cuban" due to having the same first name as LA radio personality "Julio G" hence the era of "theCuban" began. After shifts in the record business and feuds between groups "the Cuban" found himself aligned with legendary West Coast Dance Event promoters WeAreOne (Narnia, Superstar Freaks, Earthdance). Sharing Rave bills with and American DJs like UNKUT, Nemo ,and DJ Ras his tastes began to shift into the exciting UK sounds of first wave Electronic music. After rubbing elbows with UK Legends NICO, Fierce, and Dom and Roland Lakshmi Das began freely releasing his own American Drum and Bass albums throughout Southern California and Miami under "The Cuban" moniker with support from Interference Records, the We Are One Family Church and the Cuban Coalition. While becoming more influenced by Karma Yoga, Bhakti and Eastern thought he subsequently founded and facilitated music education programs for at risk youth in both San Diego (Epicentre & Garfield High School) and NYC (Bread&Roses High School/Radio1Harlem) and began to reflect more spiritual and philanthropic themes in art and life. A divinely guided pilgrimage and eventual long term move to Hawaii brought a powerful affinity and knowledge of Native Hawaiian Cultural practices along with a deep respect for the struggles of the Native Hawaiian/local peoples of Hawaii.

This artists journey has shifted publicly from a culture of gun toting violence and braggadocio to the annals of self inquiry, healing and peaceful liberation
