DJ Krumbs is constantly traversing his artform. Born in Singapore, now residing in Holland, he shares his love & energy for music whilst traveling the world playing to an international audience: from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand to Latvia, Germany & Holland. Currently a brand ambassador for PUMA Singapore.

By combining his turntablism skills with musical flow, Krumbs has the ability to scratch, cut & layer his tracks, combined with an inspired track selection, ensuring that dance floors are pumped right through his set from Singapore to Thailand to Latvia, Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City, Amsterdam to Stuttgart.

Early Beginnings:
As an old-school fan, he drops classics to surprise his audience and keep them coming. His journey began 8 years ago, dabbling with turntables and CDJs in his bedroom. A love for Funk & Soul, old school Hip Hop and Breakbeats saw Krumbs venture into spinning for Breakdance showcases such as Street Clap, Floorskillz and ‘Dan:s Festival‘ at the Arts & Theater Hub: The Esplanade.

Singapore Clubscape:
His growth as a DJ did not go unnoticed and soon he was regularly picked to be a guest DJ at party hotspots all over Singapore: from megaclubs AVALON, Zouk & the former Ministry of Sound Singapore, to bloc parties at dblO, Hard Rock Singapore & BluJaz. He held his residency in VIP club Stereolounge, which hosted the likes of Boy George, Pete Tong, Danny Krivit and Frankie Knuckles. Since then, he closed 2011 by rocking out Siloso Beach's NEW YEARS EVE PARTY 2012 in front of 10,000 party revellers.

Rubbing Shoulders:
He has also played alongside DMC Singapore Champions like DJ J Styles, international acts such as Tha Trickaz (FRA), DJ 5ter Tone (GER), DJ Platurn of the legendary Oakland Faders (USA) and many more. When Krumbs was in the National University of Singapore, he co-founded synQ, a dj-ing club for undergrads. Since graduating as a Chemical Engineer, he has carried on his affiliation with the club by practicing in the studio and conducting lessons for DJ-ing, seeking to spread the artform. The club has since gone on to be touted as an up and coming music collective with RELOOP coming in to sponsor them.

Modelling:
In 2008, CLEO magazine spotted him on the streets and picked him to be one of their 50 Most Eligible Bachelors 2008. It was his first brush with being in the public eye as a DJ and consequently he was signed by Upfront models, one of the top modeling agencies in Asia. It thrusted him into a peculiar situation: gracing events as a model yet always keeping an ear for musicality and sounds that adorned such events. He developed a taste for electronic music, while keeping his roots in the old-school.

Endorsements:
In light of his DJ path so far, it had open doors for sponsorship and recognition of his talents. He was signed by Bedsty Music and selected to endorse HTC & PUMA - taking their brands centrestage - as they recognized him to be a mover and shaker in the nightlife industry. Recently, his mixtapes were featured on SONAR.SG radio in the Good Times segment every Tuesdays 9-11pm, broadcasted online to the world audience.

Foreign Gigs:
While he made his footprint in the local party scene, he did not forget the potential of going global through the international contacts that he made. He was invited to spin in KL (Malaysia), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Koh Tao (Thailand), Stuttgart (GER), Amsterdam (NL) and Riga (Latvia) – rocking parties and was duly invited back to Germany again in the summer of 2010 for a massive Konitschiwa night.

Future Prospects:
As 2011 rolls out, Krumbs will begin his new music journey in the Netherlands as he was offered a job as an engineer in Maastricht for the next three years. In a country that produces the top DJs and Producers in the world, he can only get better. Watch this space for more of his escapades to come.
