About

Raised in Corona, a large Spanish area in the borough of Queens, New York, Joeski started playing house parties in 1989. He got a break in 1991 when promoters booked him to play at the Wunder Bar, where his smooth sets brought applause from across the board.

Over the next few years Joeski began to build his name in his home city at a range of clubs including The Limelight and NASA. It was during this time that he got into the rave circuit, hooking up with DJ Keoki to play at Save the Robots, the East Village’s infamous after-hours club. As founder of The Chocolate Factory, Joeski’s profile rose dramatically. At the start of the early ‘90s Joeski’s DJing started to take him all over the world before he finally settled into a new Friday residency at the famed Roxy Club. His residency was for the club’s ‘Together’ night, where Joeski would play alongside the US’s finest DJ’s including Danny T, Little Louie Vega and Roger Sanchez. The high-profile Roxy residency meant a flood of dates for gigs all over the US and an additional residency at Groove Society in Montreal.

Back in New York, Joeski built his own studio in the late 90s, working hard to hone his production skills. In 2000, ready to explode onto the scene, Joeski came roaring out with a series of tracks and remixes on Siesta, Junior Boys Own, Ministry of Sound, Tango, Electric Sol and more.

Joeski was then inspired to launch his own label. Maya Records has over 30 releases of quality house grooves. The first release “Hustler’s Revenge” was an immediate hit and continues to sell to this day, and DJ Chus from Chus and Ceballos created “El Amore” another huge hit for the imprint. Coming up in 2009, the next big release on the label is “3ski” a collaboration including 333 aka Paul Slater, Joeski and Steve Smith the vocalist from Dirty Vegas.

Throughout the 2000s, his originals and remix work have been well in demand, with Joeski remixing the likes of the Sneaker Pimps, Dajaé, Delacy, Dirty Vegas, Medway, DJ Sneak and more. He’s appeared on such labels as Hooj Choons, NRK, Ministry, Stealth and Junior Boys Own.

Not only does Joeski have many great solo works, but he has participated in several well regarded collaboration projects. 6400 Crew included Joeski, Onionz, Hipp-e and Halo with big hits appearing on Tango, NRK, Maya and Siesta. Joeski has also collaborated with DJ Chus, John Creamer and Stephan K, Steve Smith from Dirty Vegas, and most recently Matthias Heilbronn.

Maintaining a busy touring schedule, Joeski has played throughout the entire world including Asia, South America, Eastern and Western Europe, The Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. He has regular destinations in Greece, UK, Portugal, Columbia, and Mexico, including residencies in Barcelona and at Stereo in Montreal.

Growing up in Brooklyn and coming from a family of latin musicians, Joeski was influence by the vibe NYC city block parties with percussion and people dancing in the street. It’s Joeski’s mission to bring that feeling of joy, fun and letting go to the dancefloors throughout the world. Get ready for a unique and captivating experience with DJ Joeski.
