Jen Kaye is a relatively new name on the house music scene, but with roots that go back almost a decade. The young Midlands-based DJ has recently been causing a stir across the UK and beyond with her trademark uplifting and sexy to dark and dirty sound. Devoted to the sounds of Grant Nelson, ATFC, Shapeshifters, Defected, Miss Moneypennys and Hed Kandi to name a few, you'll find soulful, vocal, disco, and tribal house flavours in Jen's music collection.
Starting out back in 2002 playing hard house music, Jen was quickly snapped up as a resident for ROAR and Polysexual Wales, playing alongside DJ's such as the Tidy Boys and Radio 1's Kutski. A few years on, it was the mesmerizing sounds of funky house and disco that enticed Jen away from harder music. And so her relationship with house music began, leading to residencies at Guildford's celeb hangout The Drink (now known as Casino) and Pews Bar in 2006. More recently Jen has played for Flawless at The Whitehouse in Clapham, Bloc Beatz at Air Birmingham, Oceana Cardiff, and as far as the White Isle of Ibiza at Play2.
A truly versatile DJ, she is also known for her infectious party sets under the alias "Jenz" and with her Floorgasms brand, incorporating a mash up of high energy pop and dance music. Events for Red Bull, FHM, and student nights have seen her play alongside Dave Pearce, The Cut Up Boys and Ronnie Herel. Working as a resident DJ every week over the years, as well as specialising in her chosen genre of house music, has given Jen the valuable experience needed to be able to rock any dancefloor, and in turn helped her to win the trophy for the Oxfordshire heats of the UK's biggest DJ competition, King Of The Decks in 2010.
To add another string to her musical bow, Jen is currently working on her own productions, and was lucky enough to become a finalist in Shed Record's 2010 remix competition, a great achievement for a beginner.
With residencies for 2Faced, Babble City, and Pews Bar Guildford, the future looks bright for this up-and-coming DJ.
