My DJ Career began when I was 16. I was always into dance music, so I got a pair of turntables and taught myself how to DJ.
Like a lot of DJ’s I progressed onto CD turntables. I started recording mix cassettes and playing them at college to friends. From then on I was hooked on sharing music with others.
I started producing a dance music podcast on i-tunes in 2006, which was a success.
I got my first residency at a nightclub in Derby where I played house music and chart remixes to a lively crowd on Saturday nights.
I moved to Blackpool in 2007 to study for a Degree in graphic design.
In my second year I got a DJ residency at a club called Flamingos (The largest capacity gay super club in the UK). I worked as a Lighting technician three nights a week and had a Thursday night DJ residency in one of the venue’s separate clubs “Bar B”.
In 2008 I started putting my mixes on Soundcloud and built a network of followers.
I was offered more DJ work in another club in the North, where I held a Saturday night residency for two years.
A year after completing my degree I moved to North Devon where I now run a freelance graphic design and print business.
I have a portfolio of work online you can look at by visiting www.jackharriscreative.co.uk.
I started playing music using a Mac Book pro with DJ software (Traktor) and a Pioneer console that enabled me to DJ in a way never before possible.
I also started learning dance music production & DJ software ‘Ableton Live’ and began experimenting with my own mashups & bootlegs for my sets.
In my spare time I have brought a keyboard and started taking house music production more seriously.
