Legendary Winnipeg party-rockers DJ Co-op and DJ Hunnicutt are back with their 6th-annual Western Canadian jaunt: TOUR DE FORCE.
Not content to play one-off dates like normal DJs, Co-op and Hunnicutt load up the turntables every February and hit the road rock 'n' roll style - driving city to city and rocking different spots night after night! And with each tour comes their one-of-a-kind branding. How can you not love tours with names like: "Cold Getting Stupid with Cupid", "Hockey vs Rap", "Dre Day", "Diners, Dancers & Douchebags", and "Playing Favourites"!?
This year, the boys are bringing their years of experience to bear on the dancefloor. Expect an all-out attack of all styles of dance music from a hip hop party rocking base. In an era when "everyone's a DJ," it's Co-op and Hunnicutt creativity and unique sense of humour that set them apart.
It's been another banner year for Co-op and Hunnicutt. In addition to hosting the hottest dance parties in Winnipeg, they've also taken up residency Fridays at Greenroom, the city's best new nightclub. Hunnicutt's "oOoOoOoOo" mixtape, released in September, blew up the blogosphere, including write-ups on The Fader blog and in SF Weekly. Co-op's "More Napkins" side project under his government name of Tim Hoover earned four stars in the Winnipeg Free Press, while the remixes from the album get burn on campus radio from coast-to-coast.
Indeed, these dance party pioneers are not content to rest on their laurels.
