For over a decade Gavin Boyd has consistently been one of Australia’s most well-respected DJs, being “the guy” to call when you need to fill a club or set the mood. Having developed a strong following, Gavin Boyd has not only garnered accolades across Australia, but much further abroad too – thanks largely to his musical diversity, which allows him to adapt to any atmosphere, something very rare in today's "genre driven" music scene.

Having begun his musical journey at a time where vinyl was still the medium for DJ’s, Gavin quickly developed the skills of a battle DJ, digging in the crates to find that one track to set it off… that passion for music moved far beyond his Hip-Hop/R&B roots into a much broader musical spectrum, woven together into unique patterns thanks to Gavin’s turntablist foundation.

Gavin’s adaptive and evolving style has infused something unique in his music to set it apart in a digital world… Soul. Gavin Boyd brings a depth of experience – having started as a radio announcer/DJ in ’99 on 4ZzZ’s Blackbeat, then winning the Queensland ITF Battle Champ title in 2003 and consequently being invited to judge the Queensland Finals of the DMC World DJ Championships numerous times. This then helped catapult Gavin’s career, landing him a multitude of support spots alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry (such as Pete Rock, Mos Def, Dwele, Questlove, Dâm Funk, Busta Rhymes, Public Enemy and countless others) and the opportunity to play at some of the most popular music festivals in Australia.

In more recent years, Gavin has held residencies at some of Brisbane’s most prestigious venues, including live collaborations with vocalists and various musicians, begun work on his own music production and had the opportunity to tour domestically and internationally – having performed in the Philippines, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
With this wealth of experience, the next move for Gavin Boyd is forward… to create his own unique sound and share it with the world.
