Drum & Bass DJ/Producer Freek from Kent, UK started producing dnb when he was 18 through a love of listening to mixtapes and sets and a love of making music. He studied music & music technology at the BRIT School and spent most of his teenage years as a vocalist for a heavy metal band before finding his love with the faced paced fluidity of drum and bass.

For the first few years of producing, Freek concentrated on the more aggressive jump up side of dnb focussing on the more angry bass heavy elements of the music. Nowadays he tends to focus more on the deep, minimal & techy side of dnb.

In January 2011 he formed well respected digital label Blue Cheese Records, with good friend Bluey of UKDNB, which has grown quite a reputation within the scene for its consistent quality output from its labels residents such as Dark Entity, Teksteppa, Miszt & ofcourse himself Freek. Blue Cheese Records gets regular DJ support from the likes of DJ Hazard, Mutated Forms, Callide, A.M.C & more, and has previously had airplay on BBC Radio 1 courtesy of Fabio & Grooverider.

Later 2011 he formed a sub label called Rotten Cheese Records which focusses more on his love of the angry jump up side of drum and bass. Working closely with fellow producer and friend Richie Stix to create a new sound of minimal jumpup that is getting a very positive response from both people within the scene aswell as the general public.

Freek is constantly working 24/7, either workin a full time job, running a label, working as a producer, djing, networking his music is a way of life, but he wouldnt have it any other way!
