This live* mix represents a treasure of old-to-nu-skool trans-Arabic motifs dropped in my set at Giza, Egypt, during the auspicious winter solstice gathering of 2012.

This was during the The Great Convergence produced by The Do Lab, conceived by Tamer El-Shakhs (thaaank you!!!) , and held a stones-throw away from the pyramids, under the perpetual cacophonous haze of the Cairo’s stifling skies and swelling humanity. We lucked out with a local sound system made available to us - a top-of-the-line Myers sound system that exhaled a gusto of great music all week!

The selections in this set were made to bridge both local tastes, and those of our West Coast bass-huggers…

Many thanks to friends Jef Stott, Nominus, Drumspyder, Zeb SpyfromCairo Visini, Paula Peek Kraus, Said Mrad and Ganga Giri for the tracks that made this cut….

*Performed on Two Pioneer CDJ 2000’s and 900 Nexus mixer…warts, clipping, truncations and all..”

    Enjoy!
