Jason Forrest is a busy man these days, producing rock, electro, hardcore, booty and bootleg tracks for a variety of labels from Germany to Japan. He’s a member of the Birthday Party crew, organizing low-cost / high-fun parties where blog-house meets B’more, Baile Funk and mash-up in Berlin. He’s writing daily for their blog, scouring the music world for new tracks to ignite dance floors. He continues to throw the massive Breakcore festival “Wasted” with techno/rave pioneer Pure. And of course, he continues to run his record label, Cock Rock Disco, building their good reputation for releasing high quality music that pushes the boundaries. Now he is releasing his first album in 3 years, the first under his Donna Summer moniker in over 5 years.

Initially begun as a sort of remix record, “Panther Tracks” builds heavily on a variety of sampled dance music heroes. One can hear Dj Chip and Dj Technics form the skeleton of more booty oriented tracks like “Peepers” and “Boomshakalaka”. Sampling live recordings on cassette of old-school Uk Breakbeat Rave festivals by DJ Slipmat, Ratpack, and Ellis D, Forrest revisits the old-rave years in a new way. Traces of Techno, Hardstyle, and a whole lot of Breakcore yield such gems as “Party People”, “Get Down” and “Rock Rock Rock”. No style too hard or too cheesy to learn from, Booty to Breakcore, Happy Hardcore to Hardstyle, Techno to Baltimore Club Music, Forrest has it in there! “Panther Tracks” is like the ultimate Rave; it’s fun, slightly crazy, and will keep you dancing all night long.

As previously mentioned, Forrest is no new-comer, he’s been featured in many of the world’s top publications*, and has played all over the world in many of the world’s largest music festivals. He's been blogged on Discobelle, Trash Menagerie, Slutty Fringe, and Diplo’s Mad Decent Blog. His albums have been included in the top albums of the year in Blender, Spin, and Pitchfork. His music videos were named videos of the year consecutive years by Res magazine, and “War Photographer” has been downloaded more than 1.3 million times. His live shows involve much bad dancing, possibly some blood, and a few shattered laptops.

Along with the release of this album, Cock Rock Disco is also proud to be issuing a free MP3 only remix record! Participating will be Shitmat, Dj C, Nero’s Day At Disneyland, Glowstyx, and DJ Technorch.
