David has been working as a dj for over ten years. Having always had a passion for collecting music he realized a great way to fund his addiction would be to become a dj. As a pioneer of the Urban scene north ofthe border he was one of the first to host regular rnb, hip-hop nights in Scotland.
As an in demand dj David can be found regularly all over the country at some of the most distinguished hot spots. Glasgow is where he resides and maintains a couple of regular residencies.
David has also DJ-ed in Europe, Africa and the US; in Minneapolis and as a regular in Barcelona’s Jamboree. Last summer has also presented a few new travel opportunities with David making his first appearance in Namibia setting off on an extensive two-week club and radio tour there hitting five night clubs and five stations. Not forgetting recent monthly appearances at the Vaults and Shooters in Dublin, Club Milk in Belfast as well as Platform in the Faroes and Club 23 in Switzerland. His bi-weekly appearances in Athens, Zante and Thessaloniki courtesy of Magna promotions were highly established in what has been described as one of the most stylish and exclusive parties in the Mediterranean.
Other recent highlights include playing at the MTV breakout / Sean Paul after party with Pharell, Beyonce and Missy in attendance. Appearances at London’s Sugarreef, Ministry of Sound, Geisha lounge and 10 rooms.
March 2006 he also featured at an official G-unit party alongside 50’s DJ Whoo-kid. He was the Scottish warm up DJ for Guru, Akon, Jill Scott and Memphis Bleek. DJ David frequently works in association with Urbanscot. www.urbanscot.com Scotland’s urban promotional company interviewing Akon,Gym Class Heroes, Jazzie B and Neyo. He is also a Scottish Street Team representative for Sony / BMG Street Team. Promoting acts such as Usher, Mario, Nas, Amerie, J-lo and John Legend.
Besides club work David also hosts workshops and dj classes around Aberdeen working closely with the local council and the Give Kids a Chance initiative to provide the youth with taster sessions and development in turntable tuition. He also writes for Blues and Soul magazine compiling the clubbing and gig guide section for the country as well as covering concerts and festivals freelance.
Besides club work David also appears frequently on television you may have seen him on River City, Rab C Nesbitt, Fiona’s Story,Phoo Action and How not to Live Your Life. He has also appeared commercials for RBS , Glasgow city council’s commonwealth bid and ICS.
