Dave Johnson began his DJ’ing career like many others; in the bedroom. Having taught himself to mix at home, his first opportunity arose on the commercial circuit in his then hometown of Romford, Essex. Having proved very popular, he then ventured out to almost all the major chains around Essex, playing at Yates, Edwards, Lakota, Missoula and Liquid & Envy, to name a few. Having played the commercial circuit for a couple of years, he witnessed a re-emergence in House music, and decided this is what he wanted to be involved with.
In 2007, Dave Johnson then moved to Colchester where he attended the University of Essex. Here he emerged quickly through the ranks to become a resident DJ there, which he still is to this day.
Over the years, Dave Johnson has played at many prestigious venues around London and the south of England, including Fabric, Pacha, Egg, The Cross, Opium Lounge, Sugar Hut, OneNineFive and SubZero (voted best student venue). He has also played alongside some formidable big-hitters, including Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules, Zane Lowe, The Audiobully’s, Jaguar Skills, Kissy Sell Out and Professor Green, aswell as playing alongside major brands Ministry of Sound, Hed Kandi and Cream.
His style ranges from the uplifting, sexy and vocal to the dirty, tech and dutch house. Expect an energetic and contagious performance from a DJ destined for bigger and better things. Watch this space!
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their continued support :)
