About

Craig Gaibler has been passionate about music his entire life. From early childhood, he was classically trained in piano, and spent his young adult life exploring various musical styles. Early in college, in the murky warehouse raves of Seattle, he discovered the electronic music scene, developing his appreciation for all things house. After coming out of the closet and meeting local Seattle DJs, Craig began hanging out in clubs, eager to learn the craft of mixing. Craig's passion and history with music motivated him to teach himself digital mixing, and he began putting together mixes for his friends as "Billy the Kid".

In April of 2008, Craig fell in love with a promoter in San Francisco who shares his passion for the club scene. Shortly after moving to the city, feeling inspired by the local scene and the encouragement of his boyfriend, Craig began to pursue his dream of becoming a DJ.

Craig's big break happened while attending the world-famous Lazy Bear Weekend in Guerneville, CA. Promoters Harry Lit and George Delmar asked him to spin a last-minute gig, and his career was launched. He quickly began spinning regularly up and down the West Coast. Some of his accomplishments including DJing the infamous Folsom Street Fair, Seven Deadly Sins: Vanity in Seattle, SWEAT in Palm Springs, Off White Party in Charlotte, as well as Bearracuda and Industry in San Francisco.

While Craig loves all types of music, his DJ style ranges from funky and vocal house, to uplifting tea-dance hi-energy music, to more progressive, circuit and deep late night sounds. Craig plays what he calls a ‘luscious’ sound, and is known for playing energetic, uplifting music with an emphasis on melodic and layered sounds.

Craig’s philosophy around DJing centers on three distinct desires: 1) to create a journey that dares anyone to leave the dance floor; 2) to play beautiful, fun, uplifting dance music; 3) to introduce creative and interesting records, artists and remixes that help define his unique, luscious sound. Each song is carefully selected to connect to the one before, crafting over time a musical arc that keeps the dance floor engaged to the very end.

In addition to his club and event experience, Craig produces an extremely popular monthly podcast featured on iTunes (Search: DJ Craig Gaibler). After only 18 months, Craig’s podcast has more than 8400 subscribers and more than 7,000 additional downloads each month.

Craig is often seen dancing behind the decks, interacting with the crowd and enjoying himself. "Music is my life. I feel so lucky to have an opportunity to share my passion with the world. I want to share that love and enthusiasm every time I spin."
