About
For Carina, Dj’ing was never a childhood dream that came true in real life; it was more something she stumbled over at the age of 15. She was hanging out at the local junior club, when she was pulled aside and asked if she wanted to join a Dj-course. Open minded and wanting to try something new, she joined in and was given a crash course in playing with both CD-players and turntables.
✭
Now, Carina can look back at some really big achievements in her Dj-career.
*Voted one of the top Djs in Scandinavia 2 years in a row, in MTV Selected, Scandinavia’s largest and most prestigious DJ competition. In the jury, The Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Stonebridge, Nils Noa and Rachel Birchwood amongst others. She was also the only female Dj to make it to the top.
*Big club residencies in Greece and Norway.
*Various radio residencies in Europe, Africa and in Scandinavia.
*Gigs all over Norway, In Sweden, Bulgaria, Greece and Ibiza.
✭
Carina quickly discovered that Dj’ing was something she wanted to do, and her talent was also quickly recognized by the clubs in her hometown. Over the years she has gained massive respect from the clubbers and Djs in Norway and Scandinavia, for daring to sticking her nose out in an industry where it’s hard for female Djs to be acknowledged. Carina brings a variety of deep house and tech house to the dance floors, always uplifting and energetic, and truly inspired by the Ibiza sound.
But only being a talented Djs is not where it ends. The next natural step is to produce music.
She has joined forces with Ralph Myerz and Eddie Da Bass, and together they are known as REC. Their very first official release is a remix for Abe Duque & Blake Baxter’s classic track “What happened” - Released on Process Recordings. In time, Carina will also produce her own tracks and remixes.
