Turntablist, Dj and producer ...

The pinnacle of Dj Calculus’s career came in 2009 when he represented South Africa at the DMC World DJ Championships, competing in the Supremacy category of the World Finals, as well as chosen to be part of a legendary panel of judges, adjudicating the World Finals and the Eliminations that year.

Respected in the turntablist battle scene both locally and internationally as a cutting-edge competitive turntablist, having competed in the DMC’s, IDA & WTK Worldwide Scratch Battle’s.

Known as a party rocker, his style includes incorporating his turntablism and production skills as a performance composed of quick mixing and high energy mash-ups across various genres.

Media appearances and publications include TV shows (E-TV, SABC, DSTV), radio (5FM, Y-FM, Highveld Stereo & Mutha FM) and Hype magazine.

Performed live at Woodstock, Red Bull Extreme Sports Show, Write 4 Gold International Graffiti Comp, International Music Festival, Back To The City Hip-Hop Festival, Lucky Fish, Fu-Cha, Media Tech Expo, Sun City Spring Break, H20, SA & World DMC Finals 09' (Indigo O2 Arena - London) and Areira Fest (Mozambique).

Dj Calculus is a product of the Joburg Hip-Hop scene, his first big break came in 2004 working with Snazz The Dictator from Cashless Society.

In 2008 joining his long time practice partner ' Tha Cutt ', recruited into the Spindle turntablist crew alongside Dj Hamma, which now forms South Africa’s most formidable turntablist Dj crew, creating their own unique sound and hosting their own brand of events.

During the course of 2009 managed to secure residency at H20 on the Hip-Hop Floor (Africa's premier dance party and most famous outdoor electronic music event).

The start of 2011 marked the unveiling of a new international Dj/Turntablist/Producer super crew - ' Gjiggy Clique ' ... of which Dj Calculus was inducted into.

Gjiggy Clique is an international production company and record label which consists of a hand-picked group of influential artists from Europe and the rest of the world, which include the likes of Dj Mandrayq (IDA 2010 World Champ & 4 x DMC Italy Champ), Dj Rasp (DMC & IDA UK Champ), Dj Jeppa (2 x DMC UK Champ), and others ...

Recent international collaborations include joining the official Wu Worldwide Dj Coalition, having worked with Hell Razah and Kevlaar 7 from the Wu-Tang extended family.

Current projects include working on producing his highly anticipated solo album, and collaborating with various artists on his production, the aim is to spread his music, style and artistry across the world, touring globally and delivering high energy live showcases.
