About
With an ear to the street and a heart in the clouds, the spirit of Isaac "B-Tips" Goldszer is both humble and high-soaring. Staying a step ahead of the game his vision has allowed him opportunities to transcend rigid genre distinction and provide the party with the fuel it needs to come alive.
B-Tips was born in Detroit and has been quoted "My right leg is Hip Hop and my left is House. I was raised with Motown on the radio by day and Ghettotech by night." When witnessing one of B-Tips' sets you will hear these influences coming alive through recontextualization. His unique and eclectic sound pushes the envelope of electro/rap and future bass music, in the vein of A-Trak or Diplo.
His DJ training came at WPTS, Pittsburgh - because of his six-years as a radio DJ he knows how to use his voice to command a crowd, in a tasteful and non-invasive way. Since that time he has recorded over 100 live mixed radio shows. Known for his wit, lively persona, and boisterous laugh, B-Tips has been a favorite of college radio fans in both Pittsburgh and Boston, where he has a show both on Northeastern college radio and has become a fixture on WMBR, the MIT station.
He has toured extensively the last three years, with festival dates in the Summer of 2012 at Hullabaloo, NXNW, and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. He also owns and authors Dance Under The Bar (danceunderthebar.com) a music blog in operation since 2009.
He has performed with DJ’s including the Hood Internet, Isaac Jordan (Philly, Spain) Tina T (Vegas), Bonics (Wiz Khalifa), Riz (Crooklyn Clan) and Zimmie (Sneaker Freaker), and has shared the stage with Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, the Hood Internet, Raekwon, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Louis Logic, Cage, RA the Rugged man, and Paul Wall.
2013 is an exciting time to be Tips, with two monthly shows in NYC hosted through his promotion company "Famous NYC," a move to New York on the horizon, his debut and breakthrough EP of original material being released, and an exciting lineup of Festivals and tours slated for the Spring and Summer.
