to calculate the correct delay time in milliseconds, requires some math.
- djbricksta on October 28, 2009 07:21
@Thoko: hey dude, im not sure what your refering to as there is no delay in this track, theres just a reverb at 50% with a 5sec decay and that would be the only thing that sounds a little strange but its intentional. All my delay plugins in live do the math for me if I use them but thanks for the link.

I decided to do a Deep House mix as its a genre I'm becoming more involved with and I will hopefully be doing a heap of Deep/Funky house mixes over the upcoming Australian Summer. As always, this mix is live on my decks. Please tell me what you think and more importantly, enjoy it :)DOWNLOAD: 3... **I made this track, besides the drums, COMPLETELY out of feedback** (jumbling a cord into my laptop through my monitors). The power of Ableton to me is incredible and I'm extremely happy with the end result. The drums were a combination of a programmed drum rack out of Ableton with hi hat and cy...Country Uploaded by djbricksta Start following Send a message on October 07, 2009 02:38

Recorded this track with a few other guys at my mates place in Wamboin, NSW. When I'm out in the "country", its a different vibe and that's what I tried to capture. One of my friends brought a harmonica along and so we did some recordings through my MacBook mic. Even though the microphone is obvi...- Pulp Jackin' (Ben Colin Re-Version) Artwork

cool stuff - a phat sound - its like three synths were used at once to fill out the low, mid and hi ends, giving an embellished and thick product. also that drum hit, i have heard it before and it works well with the beat.

bricko, make sure u check out a french electo house proecuer called SebastiAN on Ed Banger, u have the same kind of thick cut super sound. indeed, its interesting how u have gripped onto the hooks that slam the party zone
- djbricksta on September 17, 2009 07:37
@RossBrodie: Im a big fan of his man, been listening to his stuff since he put his Ross Ross Ross EP out. I layered 3 of my own synth creations in Ableton Operator to make the drop :)

Yeah, get all your woops woops out of the way, I decided to do a remix of this track even though its a bit dated and it all fell into place quite nicely. I "mastered" this by limiting the master and then pushing it so ontop of 320kbps mp3 compression so keep that in mind, though I think you could... Gobstopper (J Dilla Bootleg) Uploaded by djbricksta Start following Send a message on August 31, 2009 00:34
This is a reworking of the J Dilla beat "Gobstopper", from his album donuts. People discribe Dilla's work as "a beautiful mess" and I hope I captured that in some way with this beat, with its unexpected white noise, stopping, and beat shuffles. Looking foward to trying this one out at a party in ...Back to The Bush Uploaded by djbricksta Start following Send a message on August 30, 2009 11:44
Aussie Hip Hop beat for some rapper's I know. I love it but obviously the bass patch needs to be polished up, the only reason i sang on it at the end of the track was so I wouldn't forget the melody haha :P. Enjoy! Please tell me what else it needs!- The Sneak Artwork

Overall the song is good but i think it has issues with the arrangement and the flow. maybe a stronger bassline during choruses to spice it up and even some supporting melodies like strings
- djbricksta on October 29, 2009 10:54
@Thoko: Its a chilled hip hop song man, with a dillaesque arrangement hence the randomness. Not trying to make it high energy and its designed for a rapper over the top with the two chorusy bits. It will all be clear when I get a dude from the states on this :)

I got back into writing hip hop again, this is my first effort. Couldn't be happier, just got to fix up a problem im having with the tightness of a sampled drum loop and this is done. I love this song. DJ Mix- Hydraulic Vol 2 Uploaded by djbricksta Start following Send a message on August 02, 2009 05:05
