I was born in Madison, Wisconsin and raised in the small town of Dubuque, Iowa. I grew up to the sounds of Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Madonna, George Michael and Steely Dan, among others. You can hear these influences when I play out today. Despite being secluded from all kinds of electronic music when starting out, I still managed to familiarize myself with the sounds of Sasha, Digweed, Oakenfold and BT, to name a few. I started DJing small gigs such as high school dances and various summer camps. Soon after I moved to more private events, including house parties and outdoor parties at friends farms. After living all over the country and taking a 3 year break from the DJ life & living in LA, I returned to Iowa, where I met Brent. Brent convinced me to get back into DJing and I credit him for starting my career anew. In 2004, I moved to Chicago and began a residency at FELT, a small lounge in the gay district of Chicago. My success at FELT was amazing; catching the attention of The Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago who offered me a permanent residency at the hotels BASE Bar. Soon after, BASE Bars manager, James and I decided to start an industry night. A few weeks later, I met Bridget, aka Shaka23 (www.shaka23.com), and James & I decided to partner up with her for industry night. This was the start of one of the best Sunday night industry parties in Chicago. Although moving to WET for space issues, it had been going strong for almost 2 years. Before coming to a stop. The Sunday night (Love A$$ Mu$ic B*tche$) steered me in directions I could never imagine. I now have the privilege of doing what I love for a living and working with some of the best talent in the world!
In Feb. Of 2008 I took a break to focus on personal growth and moved to the city of Temecula, CA. It is about an hour north of San Diego and about an hour and a half south of LA. There I had the privilege of living on a 10 acre ranch and really being able to grow and work on music without an outside influence. On Feb.28th, 2009 I returned to Chicago with a new sense of mind and music and am preparing to dominte the music scene harder than ever.
Today I have left turntables & CD players for a new technology, technology embraced by such artists as BT, Paul Van Dyk, Max Graham, Matthew Dekay & my personal favorite, Sasha. I use ABLETON Live (www.ableton.com) to create LIVE re-edits, remixes, LIVE mash-ups and it also give me access to unlimited amounts of effects, loops, samples & production capabilities - all by using my MacBook Pro, 2 M-Audio Midi Controllers, an M-Audio Firewire410, & WD External Hardrive. As I have said before, ABLETON Live is, Truly one of the best things I have come into contact with, as far as music goes. It helps me, the DJ, become more of an artist when it comes to live DJ experiences. A dream come true….
