Dublin’s DJ Baz (aka Baz Hickey) started honing his skills in the late 90s at celebrated hip hop night Melting Pot in Eamonn Doran’s. He was later invited to perform at DJ Yoda's Spread Love night in London and Boca 45's Diggin' In The Crates night in Bristol (with Massive Attack looking on). He has shared the stage with an array of diverse acts including Marlena Shaw, Mad Professor, Horse Meat Disco, Neil Hannon, DJ Vadim and Cathy Davey. He’s a regular on the festival circuit (Electric Picnic, Castle Palooza, Festival of World Cultures, Kings Of Concrete, Fringe) as well as a few of the notorious local sweat boxes around town. On the broadcasting side, he has done radio mixes for Power FM (Dublin), 2SER (Sydney) and WFMU (New Jersey). He favours 7” vinyl as his format of choice while DJing although the Serato setup is never too far away.
