About

JoJoe is a Lebanese house DJ from NYC and one of three members of 3.O.F. Born and raised in Chicago, JoJoe has been a performer his whole life and draws inspiration from an array of musical genres. Influenced early on by classic rock, he spent countless hours in his father’s vinyl record store listening to the likes of Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and Kiss. Wasting no time, JoJoe started a band and showcased his natural abilities by taking on multiple roles as front man, rhythm guitarist, and keyboardist on studio works.

The Chicago jazz scene also had a profound impact of his music style, especially his later maturation into DJing. The live collaborations between musicians awakened him to the excitement and complexity of jazz, especially the works of Miles Davis, Art Blakely, and Charles Mingus.

After spending time around NYC nightlife, JoJoe became interested in electronic music and took up a liking to house music. His jazz background has inspired the flow of his mixes, which combine elements of electro, deep, and progressive house.

Born Joseph S. Jarroush, his DJ name comes from a nickname his father gave him early in life. He currently plays in the NYC tri-state area and would not rather be doing anything else in the world because this is what he was made to do.

His brother, Sami J, is the host of the Rockitout!Blog.
