Luis Ballestas “DJ Top Gun” is a Boston native who attended Dean College graduated in 2002 with an associate‟s degree and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor‟s degree in communications in 2005. He has experience as an A&R, music producer, and a recording engineer. As an A&R, Top Gun worked for Illumina Records in Beverly, MA. He also worked under Joe Laquadore at Oak Groove Studio in Malden, MA as a recording engineer. In addition, Top Gun acquired extensive experience as a radio personality on Dean College‟s WGAO 88.1 FM, UMass/Amherst„s WMUA 91.1 FM, & Salem State's WMWM 91.7 FM. DJ Top Gun is a member of the Hittbreaka DJ‟s coalition. Having a strong foundation and firm beliefs, DJ Top Gun is passionate about his work and is one of the premiere DJ‟s & beatmaker's in the nation, mixing Latin sounds, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, R&B, Techno, and Pop, while integrating the latest technology with DJing & producing.

Top Gun's influences on his music career stem from Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., RSO, New Edition, Jodeci, Mary J Blige, Bob Marley, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Dr Dre, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Playero Mixtapes, Wu-Tang Clan, Celia Cruz, Joe Arroyo, Elvis Martinez, Aventura, Luny Tunes, El General, Harry Connick Jr, Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Slick Rick, Michael Jackson just to name a few. Personal influences that helped Top Gun in getting in the music business and started is Benjamin Ciaramello, Kenny Emmanuel, Mark Pompey, Tony Clark (DJ Amaz), Marcus Boyd (Mr. Markies), Ju Rock, Street Radio Family & his brothers & sisters. But the 2 most biggest influences on him in his life is his Mother & Father, who set the path for him to follow his dreams & passion. DJ Top Gun believes, “That the creativity and drive has to come from within and the starting point of that is love and be passionate about what you do, respect it and you will receive it back 10 times then what you put into it." & one of Top's favorite saying is "There's many paths to Rome, not just "ONE."
