I have been a record collector for over 23 years and a DJ for over 20 years.... Vinyl is my medium of choice. I grew up in Tampa, Fl. I started off collecting oldschool hip hop, classic rock, punk and alternative/ industrial and spent a lot of time in Orlando/ Tampa/ Tallahassee/ Saint Petersburg/ Melbourne/ Cocoa Beach Florida where I got into the electronic music scene at places like Beacham Theater (AAHZ), the Edge, Barbarella, Marrs, Brassy's, Firestone, etc.... I was mainly in the scene from 1990 to 1994 and then did not like the direction house and breakbeat was going so I started collecting downtempo, soulful/ conscious hip hop, triphop/ acidjazz, balearic, big beat, world ( asian, african, middleastern, indian, etc.) and turntablism styled music.... I felt like music was losing it's substance and SOUL, I still collected house and breaks whenever a special tune would come out, but spent most of my time collecting the 88-94 oldschool style music from what I consider the glory days of electronic music.....I lived in Athens, Ga. where I would collaborate with bands as their DJ. I owned a record/art store/ cafe called HARMONY for a year where I would DJ, throw events and have live acts showcase their skills. I have DJed art show openings, cafe/ coffee houses, at Oxygen (now closed) in Athens, Ga. Blue Sky in Athens, Ga. I Played the world famous 40 WATT CLUB, Played the famous GEORGIA THEATER in Athens, Ga. (house/ hiphop night, and opened for the artist Coolio) Nuci's Space, the Sand Bar and The New Earth music hall in Athens, Ga. and various one-off parties and also several places in the Tampa Bay, Tallahassee Fl. I just recently played an event called: VINYL IN THE PARK at Saint Petersburg, Fl. Pier and played at Bananas Music ( WORLDS LARGEST RECORD STORE) I also was music programmer on a talk radio show called CREDITLAND ( https://www.facebook.com/creditlandradio ) in Athens, Ga. which I still take part in broadcasting on occasion. I also did a weekly broadcast on an internet radio show (was also administrator for the company) spinning all genres of Electronic music from VINYL. I chose the name DJ HARMONIZE because of it's meaning:
to blend, arrange, put to harmony, adapt, set, orchestrate, tune, be in harmony.....via thesaurus..............
DJ of: HIPHOP, DOWNTEMPO, REGGAE, HOUSE, TRIPHOP, ACIDJAZZ, JAZZ, SOUL, WORLD, ELECTRONICA, TECHNO, BREAKBEAT, ELECTRO, MIDDLE EASTERN, ASIAN, CLASSICS......AND ANYTHING THAT HAS SOUL!!! ALL MIXES ON VINYL .......... SPREADING POSITIVITY THROUGH MUSIC, HARMONY, UNITY, PEACE and LOVE.......(all the present mixes are quite old, will be adding more updated tracks/mixes soon of all different genres) THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX....DIVERSITY IS A GIFT FEW USE.....DON'T CONFORM, CREATE and EXPLORE, DARE TO BE DIFFERENT, DON'T BE AFRAID TO BE YOURSELF NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS MIGHT THINK, CRITICS ARE CRITICS DUE TO LACK OF TALENT......(what else can they do but complain or find something wrong with you or your art) UPLIFT, INSPIRE, RISE ABOVE, STAY POSITIVE.......a few of my favorite quotes: (when the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace) (no one can make you feel inferior without your consent) (your not going crazy, your going sane in a crazy world) (don't carry grudges, they're too heavy) (those who discourage your dreams never followed their own) (what does it profit to man to sell his soul and gain the whole world)......THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY MIXES AND PROFILE (DJ TODD WALSH) more mixes @ http://www.mixcrate.com/djharmonize
