DJ The Robotic Kid - aka Michael Edward Barry - has been cutting grooves in the Toronto underground music scene since the early 2000's. Having worked as an actor from the tender age of 11, Barry turned his focus to underground art, film and musical activity after meeting the late great Will Munro and attending Munro's fabled 'Vaseline' parties. Between 2001 and 2006 Barry played and toured with "gay folk church music" phenom The Hidden Cameras, hanging up his glockenspiel in 2006 to form post-punk band The Torrent with Cameron Groves. With Luis Jacob he hosted The Rhythm Box parties at Club 56 Kensington, around which time he also played the role of Bart in Zach Snyder's 'Dawn of the Dead'. DJ The Robotic Kid hosts the monthly Mighty Real party at Cold Tea in Toronto and plays regularly at the Black Eagle, Cold Tea, FLY and La Perla in Toronto.
