About

DJ Reck

DJ/Remixer/Producer

Born in Jersey City and raised in Union City, NJ, a predominately Latino community in the outskirts of New York City, his surroundings have been a major influence in the style and music that he plays. With tropical latin sounds mixed in with hard urban beats, from old to new he plays it all.

At a young age, DJ Reck was taught by his cousin DJ Vlad Vera on how to mix and blend. Later on he taught himself how to scratch and has honed his skills throughout the years. As the technology evolved so did Reck, with the skill to be able to play on vinyl, cd or computer. Diversity is his middle name.

Playing everything is an understatement. Hip Hop, House, Club, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Freestyle, Kuduro, Baile Funk, Reggae, Soca, Moombahton, Dub Step, Zouk, Juke, Rock, Pop etc. Armed with a huge library, a keen knowledge of music and the ability to read crowds, DJ Reck always aims to please and rock out parties where ever he goes.

DJ Reck has played throughout New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, and as far out as Texas with the likes of Mad Decent DJ’s, DJ Tameil, Tim Dolla, DJ Sega, Dirty South Joe, Munchi, Uproot Andy, Geko Jones, Sabo, DJ Ayres, Mike B, A-Mac, DJ Camilo and opened up for acts such as Tito Rojas, Toby Love, Oro Solido and more.

He’s a part of Brick Bandits, New Jersey’s biggest family of Producers and DJ’s spanning from Jersey to Chicago and Philly, as well as part of the collective called Danger Room with such members as Wu-Tang Clans Cappadonna, Chedda Bang and VDJ Roc Star. DJ Reck also participates in charity events, fundraisers and toy drives that help in uplifting and enlightening various organizations such as New York's AID's Walkathon, City of Roselle, ULP and more. He also is the co-founder of the first official Moombahton party in NYC called Moombahton Maxxin along with Phi Unit, Cousin Cole and Monica Sharp. A Latin Party in the Lower East Side at The SKINnY Bar and Lounge and Thread in collaboration with fellow Brick Bandit’s Elete, Ezrakh, Nadus and DJ Slink.

As always he is working on more edits and remixes as well as original production. Find him at various venues from bars, lounges, clubs and concert events.
