You have seen him spinning in private events. You have danced to his unique blend of music in the hottest nightclubs in town. From destination weddings to top notch celebrity events, he has been the heart and soul of the party. He is considered to be one of the best mobile deejays in the Island and one of the rising talents in the Puerto Rican nightclub scenery since his return in 2006. His 22 years in the entertainment industry had prepared him to tackle the toughest events and most demanding clientele. His mobile and nightclub experience, mixing skills, extensive music knowledge, professionalism, and music creativity has distinguished him from the rest, taking the deejay profession to the next level.
 
Dj Phred, also known as Alfredo Yordán Sifre, was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on September 3, 1976. His interest in music started at an early stage in life thanks to his mother and grandfather. Music was always part of his daily routine, whether it was on the way to school or playing in the backyard, a radio was always on. His passion for music took off thanks to the creation of MTV and the boombox. "I used to record my favorite songs from MTV or radio using my boombox cassette recorder. I remember there was a local radio station that played mixes by well known DJ's every hour and I waited the whole hour just to record them. The funny thing about this, I still have those tapes."
 
The term disc jockey, came to his knowledge thanks to one of his cousin's closest friends that was a DJ at that time. But his true first encounter with the world of djing and the art of mixing using the beat matching techniques came to his life in the summer of 1988 thanks to his brother, Carlos who was, at that time, starting as a bedroom DJ. "Carlos had a friend, Enrique, that was a DJ and introduced him to his hobby. When I started seeing what Carlos was doing to the turntables and the mixer, and started to listen to the blend of songs, I was amazed and I said to myself, I want to do this." This is the moment where all started.
 
His mobile deejay career started at the summer of 1990 when he teamed up with his brother to start a mobile DJ company. Both worked together until the fall of 1992 when Carlos decided to pursuit his college degree. DJ Phred decided to continue with the business that he is still running, Alfredo Yordán Entertainment Group.
 
His nightclub deejay career started late 1994 thanks to the help of friend and colleague, Carlos Cobián who at that time was a resident DJ of a new nightclub spot. "I remember one day, Carlos called asking for a favor, to see if I could lend him some CDs of Top 40 hits because he was playing in a new club and needed new stuff. After that, he invited me to drop by the club to check it out. I decided to go that night and I must say, that night changed my professional career forever." Working as a substituted "lightman" and DJ at Club Ibiza taught Dj Phred all there is to know about the nightclub industry.
 
In spring 1997, Dj Phred's nightclub career took off earning his first residency on Thursday nights at the Voodoo Lounge. Then he appeared as guest DJ in other well known nightclubs and bars, such as Club Millenium, Planetarium, Area 51, The Bomb and Coaches Sports Bar. In 1999, his career in the nightclub scenery took a stall due to health problems. He developed an allergy to cigarette smoke. After that incident, he decided to stay active but in the mobile Dj scenery until 2004, when he was diagnosed with cancer. "The cancer literally changed my life forever, in every aspect of who I was. It tried to shut me down, but I wasn't ready to give up." After a two year struggle with the illness, he finally was in remission and decided to hit the decks again.
 
Since his return in January 2006, he is been spinning in both the mobile and nightclub sceneries. Currently, he is the resident DJ at Eternal Lobby Lounge and appears as guest DJ in Club Brava and The Rose. Also, he has appeared in special events and concerts across the Island. Right now, he is working in new entertainment projects and a possible DJ Tour in some cities in the east of the United States for the 2011 fall season.
