I am a dub step and drum and bass/hip hop dj and producer.
Some of my influences include DJ Shadow, Cold Cut,and NiN,tough its the love of 80's synth pop that got me into this whole scene.
My cousin gave me a tape of Propaganda (the band) and on the back was a copy of thrill kill kult's "Confessions of a knife". I think i had the rest of the bands music in a week.Finally, no more bubble gum shit! i came back to my little town and immursed myself into gothic culture.Being the only goth at 12 was strange, but I soon had friends that were into the same music i was importing from the only music store in my town. It lead to all types of bands which are apparent in my mixes and songs.Manson and KMFDM to name a few.
i then had a musical hiatis for 3 years. Imagine no music.It was shitty.
When i was back allowed to be left to my own devices of music, i found myself at a small rave. Crappy techno(so i thought at the time), but a second area pumping out this double time hiphop, aka jungle/ DnB. I went straight to the front and watched the DJ infectiously.
As soon as i could i started ordering all my goth and hit and miss techno tracks by trainspotting. Sorry, but it's how i found out about Aphex Twin, the Orb, Lords of Acid which i knew from my other goth friends, and like me, they became ravers. Not candy Kids, but the DnB heads in the front or back.After three years of practice, i started to get booked through my crew in Santa Fe, Cerberus productions.I think opening for Donald Glaude was my main acomplishment at the time.
I've gone on to work on a radio show at dessertfm (RIP), and Now am with Form B and am in talks with Be Green records to release an ep.
