Beginning back in 2001 with two turntables and a dream, Kid Optimus is well-established within the EDM scene. With shows played in multiple cities throughout the Midwest (including a pair of residencies in Oklahoma City,) Kid Optimus has spent his lengthy career listening to tracks and delivering what the audience wants.

Describing his music as “emotions set to a rhythm,” he uses it as a voice to guide the audience through a musical journey covering many tempos, moods, and energy levels. Music has been an essential part of his life as far back as early childhood, when he sang in his local church choir. After adolescence, he moved on to playing instruments, including the drums and keyboard, before finding his calling first as a b-boy in the dance scene, and finally as a DJ.

His musical influences range from gospel, soul, hip-hop, and reggae to heavy metal, ska, and jazz. This gives him a large variety of musical knowledge and styles which he brings to the mix, ensuring a unique and amazing experience at every event. Never limiting himself to one genre, you will find him spinning dirty electro, funk, and soulful house, or blowing the speakers with his original blend of funky, b-boy-inspired breaks, wall-rattling trap, and hip-hop remixes.

Since settling into Denver in early 2012, Kid Optimus has played multiple shows across Denver and surrounding Cities. This has included shows with many different production companies including MP3J, That’s Sick!, Vertigo Ent., Vibal Funktions, Diluzional Ent., and K&C Ent. He has also played at the number 1 nightspot in america, Beta nightclub, as well as multiple shows during the “Altitude Sickness” series produced and hosted by Casselman's Bar and Grill. This has included shows with national acts including “The Juggernaut”, “Terrabad”, and “Captain Panic!”

Not willing to slow down, Kid Optimus already has numerous goals for this year. This includes playing an abundance of shows both in Denver and out of state. He has refined the finer aspects of his music production abilities and will be releasing remixes and original productions soon. Truly the future is bright for this perennial star.
